Leon Trotsky House Museum

A fortified house where history, exile, and revolution still permeate every corner

AREA

What Makes It Special?

This was the place where Leon Trotsky, the Russian revolutionary who found refuge in Mexico in 1937, lived and was assassinated. Today, the house remains just as he left it, including his study, his bed, his books, and traces of his daily life.

Did You Know…?

Trotsky was invited to Mexico by Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, with whom he shared a brief but intense relationship. The museum also preserves his garden, which features funerary urns, personal belongings, and political archives.

Don’t Miss

Perfect for those who enjoy exploring global history from an intimate perspective. The everyday details—reinforced locks, high walls, objects in their proper places—make the experience deeply human.
