Dilea Castillo Viuda de Neira Wax Figures Museum

One of the oldest wax museums in the Americas

AREA

What Makes It Special?

Founded in 1957 by José Neira Obcejo and Dilea Castillo, this museum houses handmade wax figures depicting historical, religious, and popular cultural figures from Mexico. Its approach is more intimate and artisanal than that of other similar museums.

Did You Know…?

It is one of the oldest of its kind in the Americas (since 1933) and is still run by the Neira family. The figures are made using traditional techniques with beeswax, without silicone.

Stop by after your tour of the Basilica of Guadalupe. It’s small and cozy, perfect for a family outing or a moment of nostalgia.
