What Makes It Special?

Located within the former Colegio de Infantes, this museum is part of the Villa de Guadalupe complex. It houses an impressive collection of religious art, including paintings, sculptures, documents, and vestments that chronicle the history of the Guadalupe cult. Plaza Mariana, right in front of the Basilica, is part of the same cultural complex. There you’ll find spaces for temporary exhibitions, sacred art, religious shops, and gathering areas for pilgrims, complementing the museum experience.

Did You Know…?

The museum opened its doors in 1941 and houses pieces dating back to the 16th century, many of which were donated by collectors or recovered from convents and parishes. It also features works by prominent artists from New Spain, such as Cristóbal de Villalpando and Miguel Cabrera.
