What Makes It Special?

This 18th-century Baroque palace was once the home of Emperor Agustín de Iturbide and today houses one of the most important branches of the Banamex Cultural Foundation, which is dedicated to promoting Mexican folk art, design, and fine craftsmanship.

In addition to its imperial history, the building has been restored to offer a first-rate museum experience. The exhibitions change frequently and typically focus on popular artists, textiles, ceramics, graphic arts, photography, and intangible cultural heritage.

Don’t Miss

Admission is always free, and the catalog for each exhibition is available in the gift shop or online. Be sure to take in the building’s architectural details as well: balconies, Solomonic columns, and grand staircases.
