What Makes It Special?

An archaeological excavation site in Mexico City, Mexico, where remains of the pre-Columbian city-state of the same name have been discovered. In 2009, a tomb containing 49 bodies was found; it is believed that these belong to those who fought against the Spanish in 1523.

Tlatelolco is a Nahuatl name that means tlatelli, “terrace,” or is derived from xaltiloll, which refers to “sandy spot” or “at the place of the sand pile.” Tlatelolco: Tlatel = Platform; lol = round; co = place

The Tlatelolco Metro station on Line 3 is the closest. Take the trolleybus south to north along Eje Central to Flores Magón Avenue.
