What Makes It Special?

Housed in the former Churubusco Convent, this museum traces the many times Mexico was invaded or occupied by foreign powers. From the French to the Americans, it tells the story of the nation’s defense.

Did You Know…?

The convent was the site of the Battle of Churubusco in 1847, where Mexican defenders, including the St. Patrick’s Battalion, heroically resisted the U.S. Army. Today, the museum preserves its original architecture, courtyards, gardens, and historic murals.

Visit the memorial garden and the lower cloister. Here, rather than dates, you’ll find faces, letters, weapons, and artifacts that tell the story of the courage, betrayal, and pain of war from the inside.
