What Makes It Special?

Located in Iztapalapa, the Yancuic Museum was conceived as an inclusive cultural space designed to bring art, science, and reflection to historically marginalized communities. Its modern architectural design houses exhibitions, workshops, a cinema, and activities that promote social engagement and critical thinking.

Did You Know…?

“Yancuic” means “new” in Nahuatl, and it is also the name of this ambitious cultural project spearheaded by the Iztapalapa City Council. It is one of the few large-scale contemporary museums designed specifically for a suburban city council.
