What Makes It Special?

This 20th-century Porfirian mansion, which once belonged to historian and collector Guillermo Tovar de Teresa, houses one of the most intimate and valuable collections of colonial art, paintings, furniture, historical documents, and artifacts that tell the story of the capital and of Mexico.

The museum is an extension of the Soumaya Museum and retains much of its original furnishings, offering an immersive experience that transports you to Mexico City’s cultural and artistic past.

Don’t Miss

In addition to the artwork, take note of the house’s architectural and ornamental details: many of them were restored based on photographs and historical documents preserved by Tovar de Teresa himself.
