What Makes It Special?

It was once the home of Dolores Olmedo, a businesswoman and patron of Mexican art. Today, it houses one of the most important collections of works by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, as well as pre-Hispanic, colonial, and folk art. The site combines art, history, and the natural world.

Did You Know…?

The museum is surrounded by gardens featuring Xoloitzcuintles, peacocks, and native flora. The Rivera collection includes lesser-known works, while Frida’s collection features intimate and personal pieces. Dolores Olmedo donated the entire collection to the people of Mexico.
