This museum complements the impressive archaeological site of Cuicuilco, one of the first major cities in the Valley of Mexico, with its distinctive circular pyramid made of volcanic stone, set amid a unique natural landscape.

Did You Know…?

Cuicuilco flourished between 600 B.C. and A.D. 150, before being destroyed by an eruption of the Xitle volcano. The small on-site museum displays figurines, pottery, tools, and maps that help visitors understand life in this ancient civilization.
