Casa del Risco Museum

A colonial gem that embodies art, history, and the intellectual elegance of a bygone era in Mexico

AREA

What Makes It Special?

It was once the home of the distinguished politician and writer Isidro Fabela, and today it houses his archives, library, and collection of colonial art, as well as furniture, documents, and personal belongings. It is a discreet, elegant, and deeply Mexican space.

Did You Know…?

The house was built in the 18th century and was turned into a museum at the behest of Fabela, who donated it, along with his collection, to the people of Mexico. It is maintained by INBAL and is a haven of tranquility and culture.

Don’t Miss

Ideal for a quiet visit during the week. Its courtyard is perfect for sitting down to read or simply relaxing among the jacaranda trees. If you love books, don't forget to visit its library, one of the best-maintained in the south.
