Founded in 1949, this space was created to recognize and promote the work of the country’s most prominent visual artists. It has served as a meeting place for such luminaries as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, José Chávez Morado, and many others. It is a vibrant space that continues to host contemporary exhibitions.

Did You Know…?

The Salón de la Plástica Mexicana was an initiative of the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA) aimed at honoring and promoting the work of Mexican artists. Its members are selected based on merit and professional achievements, making this venue a true home for Mexican art.
