The Templo Mayor was discovered by accident in 1978, when utility workers stumbled upon a massive monolith of Coyolxauhqui. That discovery changed the history of the city center forever.

How to Get There

Zócalo/Tenochtitlan (Blue Line 2) – exit to Plaza de la Constitución – 3-minute walk

The easiest way to get there is to take the Metro to Zócalo, exit at Plaza de la Constitución, and walk along Seminario Street.
