What Makes It Special?

It is UNAM’s most important contemporary art venue and one of the most avant-garde on the continent. It exhibits works by Mexican and international artists that offer a critical, political, and aesthetic perspective on today’s world.

It opened in 2008 and was designed by architect Teodoro González de León as a museum-laboratory. The space combines exhibitions, intellectual discourse, activism, and sound art. Its digital archive and educational program are regional benchmarks.
